Archaeology

Hi guys! Today I am going to talk about the career that I chose. Actually, I study anthropology, “the man science” or “the human science”; but I want specialize me in archaeology, furthermore, today I was participating in the “Latin American Meeting of Zooarchaeology” :3 This has been wonderful. When I was a little girl, for my birthday nº8, my daddy gave me books of history, I loved these books (and still I love these xD). In these books report topics about the archaeological jobs. Since this moment, I loved of this discipline. Everybody told me that “I would starve” if I’ll study this career :( but, this wasn’t enough for do me change of opinion. Always charm me the mystery that the archaeology hides. I love discover and study the old and missing civilizations, know how they thought and acted, their customs, ideologies, and others.
The principal contribution for the society of the archaeology is that this discipline (aside from protect historical and cultural heritage of a society) give knowledge to the population and the world about the different aspects that developed in the past both in the environment and in the human in it totality. Moreover, only knowing our past, we can understand and complement that we are now.
Now, the tools that a professional need are, obviously, tools that needed in fieldwork and laboratory work, like dating methods. Also, for the archaeology is essential the support of the politic, specially in the help for the preservation of the patrimony. And finally, my favourite subjects are the zooarchaeology, because I have had much contact with this sub-discipline, and I like the study topics related ideologies, religion, and the art, principally the rock art and the study of all forms of expression of the human.

Salvador Dalí

The Elephants

Salvador Dalí born in 1904. He was the maximum exponent of the surrealism. He was a fantastic painter that revolutionized the word with his charisma and talent. His most famous works are: Crucifixion (Corpus Hypercubus), Galatea of the Spheres, The Persistence of Memory, and The Temptation of St. Anthony. Also, he produced different work of art types and in different disciplines such as photography, sculpture, drawing, and cinematography where he was fellow worker of Alfred Hitchcock, Walt Disney and Luis Buñuel; with Buñuel, Dalí produced the famous film “Un chien andalou” (1929).

I knew to Salvador Dalí when I was 9 years old while I studied in third grade, when I had to make a report for my art class about four famous painters. In this time, I hadn’t a lot of knowledge about art and thing of this type, for this reason my mother helped me with the report, she lent me the dictionary The Little Larousse, and she indicated me where look up information. There I found to four painters that I drew attention and I made my report: Pablo Picasso, Diego Velásquez, Francisco de Goya, and of course Dalí. The paintings of the first painter don't like to me, for me it was only scrawls, the two next I did not like, because the environment is very dark, but with Dalí happened something special. Honey is Sweeter than Blood (1927) was the first Dalí painting that I saw in the dictionary, It seen to me some disturbing, this scared me a few, no wonder, because there a “chopped woman” in the image, but as the phrase say “scares me but I like it” hahaha xdd.

The Horseman of Death
Dalí is a real idol for me, as I said in a previous post, thanks to him, I painted some surrealistic paintings. I love the symbolism in his works, the combination of colours and the perspective horizontal in the landscapes, and everything the enigmatic figure that his works present. And Finally, I Love Salvador Dalí ♥.

The Who

Hi! My Dear Classmates

Now, I tell you about my favourite band. It’s very difficult for me, because (since I am a Lover of the music xD) I have 3 favourite bands! In this opportunity I talk you about The Who.
The Who is a British rock band of the sixties, the original band members are Roger Daltrey (singer), Pete Townshend (guitarist), John Entwistle (bass player), and Keith Moon (drummer, he is in my photo in the upper part of my Blog). In their beginning, they play rock music and ballad, their style is very similar to the style of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones; much linked to the style mod. But in the 70’ their music was add opera and philosophical styles, created magnificent works like the opera albums Tommy and Quadrophenia. Pete, John and Keith are in a list of the best musicians of all time (The Rolling Stone Magazine Ranking). Regrettably, Keith and John died to long time ago :’(, the world loosed two great persons. Actually, Roger and Pete continue playing and staying in tour, with Zack Starkey in the drums (Ringo Starr son). Well, my song favourite song is “See me, Feel me/Listening to you” of the album Tommy (It’s my favourite album, too.  Additionally it’s a single) because express the feeling of a community, the thing I want to be. Tommy in 1975 became a film by the director Ken Russell, in the movie work the band members, and others pop stars like Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Elton John, and others. And, in an interview to Pete (the principal composer of the band), he said that “Listening to you” is like a prayer. The album Tommy is very linked with the religion and the search of the identity (Quadrophenia is linked with the identity, too. In this case the principal character is Jim). The Who wasn’t only a simple rock band, they imposed new sensation of the rock, fantastic performances in alive, and their characteristic destructive form for play.
